Woodfuel Programme
The Woodfuel Programme is a 3 year project, delivered by by CO2Sense Yorkshire and funded by Yorkshire Forward. The programme supports the development of woodfuel supply and increased uptake of woodfuel boilers across the region.
As a sub-regional partner in this programme, South Yorkshire Forest Partnership will be delivering the service across the sub-regions of South Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. The programme can provide capital support as well as a dedicated advisory service for projects that increase storage, supply, on site handling or specialist transport of woodfuels.
The funding is available for both the public and private sectors and will be focused on projects that can develop sustainable woodfuel supply chains. The project aims to increase the amount of woodfuel being sourced and supplied locally, to increase the size of regional woodfuel businesses and to reduce regional CO2 emissions. The woodfuel should be derived from local, virgin souces such as woodlands, energy crops and sawmill co-products. Waste wood and pellet projects can also be supported under the Woodfuel Programme.
